About Us

Welcome

The Redding Garden Club was founded in 1964 to stimulate interest in and knowledge of horticulture, to assist the town in its conservation activities, to aid in the protection of native trees, birds and wildflowers, and to increase the knowledge of the artistic use of plant material.

We are proud to be a member of the
Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut
and National Garden Clubs.

Meetings

We meet monthly September through May (excluding November and December) at the Redding Community Center. (check out our calendar of events for details). Guests are welcome and guest fees are $5 per person.

Activities

The RGC is very active in the Redding community. Among our activities we:

Maintain over a dozen public garden sites
• Offer conservation and education programs
Hold an annual Fall Bulb and Spring Plant Sale
• Conduct an Arbor Day program for elementary school students
Award scholarships
Sponsor field trips and workshops
Create flower arrangements for seniors and hospice patients

We also have an ongoing, award-winning partnership developed with the town of Redding called Saving Natural Redding,” designed to help eradicate invasive plants and provide native planting alternatives to the community.
